My Super-Pet

Banksy Rat Plaster

I would combine:

1. the brain power, cleanliness and affection of a rat
2. the size and cuddliness of a cat
3. the wings of a parrot, just because it would be cool, although I can see a bunch of potential drawbacks to that.

Check out our newest back to school issue!

Let us know what you think!!

wow. wow. wow.

I saw this on a news site and I thought I needed to share it. How incredible is this guy? Who needs arms? Not him. He doesn’t seem to let anything stop him! There’s not much else I can add… see for yourself!

In defense of my vice: BAGS!

Cathy from Chili here! I have a little issue with bags… I LOVE bags. Not purses. BAGS. The big 'ol man bags. I like being able to cram as much junk as possible in my bag. You never know what you might need! … Sometimes I feel like Ally Sheedy's character in the movie "Breakfast Club". (Some people even say I look like her) I have way too many. Probably 50 or 60 bags. Possibly even more, but I'm embarrassed to say it out loud. 🙂 Still, I couldn't give away any of them, and I switch them up quite a bit depending on my mood, so it isn't like I don't use them. Plus I have kids, so its nice to have stuff for them in there, especially diapers. 🙂 BTW, the image is of one of my bags. Shameful how much junk I can fit in it, isn't it?

What's your vice?

Mockingjay is here!

Today’s Mockingjay’s (by Suzanne Collins) official release date! Yay! I can’t wait to read it! I LOVED the first two, and from what I hear this one is going to be even better. 🙂

Its the third book in the Hunger Games trilogy:

Hunger Games
Catching Fire

This is the description from Goodreads:

Katniss Everdeen, girl on fire, has survived, even though her home has been destroyed. Gale has escaped. Katniss’s family is safe. Peeta has been captured by the Capitol. District 13 really does exist. There are rebels. There are new leaders. A revolution is unfolding.

It is by design that Katniss was rescued from the arena in the cruel and haunting Quarter Quell, and it is by design that she has long been part of the revolution without knowing it. District 13 has come out of the shadows and is plotting to overthrow the Capitol. Everyone, it seems, has had a hand in the carefully laid plans — except Katniss.

The success of the rebellion hinges on Katniss’s willingness to be a pawn, to accept responsibility for countless lives, and to change the course of the future of Panem. To do this, she must put aside her feelings of anger and distrust. She must become the rebels’ Mockingjay — no matter what the personal cost.

When Jaleel White wasn’t playing Steve Urkel, he was at the library!

Don’t know who Urkel is? He’s the nerd from Family Matters! Check out the Urkel Dance, right here! His dance was SO famous, he started doing it on other tv shows too. This is Urkel doing the Urkel Dance on Step by Step.

First EVER Superman comic?

While scanning through the blogosphere, I found a link to the very first comic that Superman was ever in! While I confess I like comics, I’m not completely knowledgeable about everything superhero. Still, I find this pretty amazing!

Click on the photo to get to the whole comic.

What are you doing to prepare for school?

So what are you doing to prepare for school? Have you started to get any school shopping out of the way yet?

Here’s what Teen Vogue has to say. I know I’m not a teen anymore, but some of this stuff is HIDEOUS!

According to KidzWorld Me, rompers are in. ROMPERS? YUCK! They have pictures of a bunch of celebs wearing them and they look hideous. Dumpy and frumpy. Puh-lease.

Luckily, over at Gossipy Girlz, they seem to have some reasonable ideas.

So far, I’m not seeing anything for guys, but honestly, you get to wear whatever you want, right? I dunno. What do you guys think? What’s going to be the back to school fashion at your school?
