Send your poem to lgrills@libraryweb.org by the end of the day on Friday 4/30/10 to enter Penfield Public Library’s 33rd Annual Teen Poetry Contest. Anyone who lives in or attends school in Monroe County and is in grades 6-12 can enter. There are three divisions: grade 6, grades 7 & 8, and grades 9-12. The poem can be about anything! One poem submission per person, please. Please email the poem as a Word attachment, and do not put your name on the same page as the poem, as the poems are judged anonymously. Instead, include a cover page with your name, grade, school, home address, and phone number. Type “Poetry Contest” in the subject line of the email. Winners will be announced in mid-May (and winning poems will be posted to this blog!). First place winners get $50, second place gets $35 and third place gets $25. Prize money is donated by the Friends of Penfield Public Library.
