Rumpelstiltskin Problem at Penfield

On March 20, 2010 teens and tweens at Penfield Public Library presented “The Rumpelstiltskin Problem,” a humorous Readers’ Theatre adaptation of Vivian Vande Velde’s book by the same name. Pamela Spiteri of DKI Acting Academy directed the show and Vande Velde herself was in the audience and mingled afterward with the crowd. Check out more photos on Vivian Vande Velde’s website (

Teen Tech Week is NEXT WEEK!

I don’t know if your library celebrates Teen Tech Week (I’ve been shamefully neglect) but its a great way to share how you’ve been using technology in artistic ways, not to mention a great reason to come into the library to see what we have to offer besides books. 🙂 We have tons!

  1. audio books for your mp3 player/ipod
  2. audio books called playaways that are self-contained
  3. DVDs
  4. umm… my mind’s a blank now. 🙂
  5. databases that you can use to find articles for your papers
  6. video games you can borrow

What do you think? What kinds of things should we offer or have in the library that we don’t? Librarians, you chime in too!
